Strengthen practices
We provide continuing education, license-renewal support, compliance guidance, insurance access, advocacy, and practical help for dentists and their teams.

SBVCDS advances the profession through unity and support, helping dental professionals grow, excel, and serve their communities.
Founded in 1919, the Santa Barbara–Ventura County Dental Society is the local professional organization for nearly 800 dentists practicing across the two counties. The Society gives members a place to learn together, solve practical problems, build lasting relationships, and contribute to the future of dentistry.
SBVCDS is the local component of the California Dental Association and American Dental Association. That tripartite relationship combines close local connection with statewide advocacy and national expertise.

Our work brings two responsibilities together: strengthening local dental practices and serving the public interest.
We provide continuing education, license-renewal support, compliance guidance, insurance access, advocacy, and practical help for dentists and their teams.
We create opportunities for professional connection, mentorship, leadership, volunteering, and the collegial relationships that make dentistry less isolating.
We help residents find member dentists and reliable pathways to emergency, reduced-cost, Medi-Cal, and specialty care.
Members belong to SBVCDS, CDA, and ADA together—connecting local programs and relationships with the resources and collective voice of the profession at every level.
